Minority Media, the developers of the much loved Papo & Yo, have today revealed that their latest project will be exclusive to the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Revealed at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), San Francisco, back in March of this year, virtual reality (VR) experience Time Machine VR was not confirmed for any specific formats, but today that has changed.
Time Machine VR is a journey through time. In the year 2033 CE, humankind has unlocked the secrets to time travel and as one of the world’s newly recruited top minds, your mission is to assemble the most comprehensive record of Earth’s prehistory ever created. Travelling solo through time on a dinosaur safari, the player will meet some fantastical creatures and attempt to unlock their secrets. If you succeed, you will be the first human to ever witness breathing saurians in their natural habitat.
Minority Media have been experimenting with a number of VR HMDs, as was confirmed to VRFocus at GDC. However today the developer has referred to Time Machine VR as their ‘upcoming Oculus Rift exclusive game’. VRFocus will be meeting with Minority Media this week and will report back with all the latest details on Time Machine VR.
UPDATE: As can be seen in the comments below, Minority Media has not yet decided on the platforms for Time Machine VR. VRFocus apologies for the error.
