MIND: Path to Thalamus To Get UE4 Makeover, Moves Closer To Oculus Support
It has been several months since we have had news regarding first-person puzzle-solving experience MIND: Path to Thalamus. The videogame, currently available on Steam, originally launched in August last year with subsequent teases of virtual reality (VR) support through the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) and at once time the PlayStation 4 and Project Morpheus.
Whilst no support has yet come forth for any VR devices at this time the intention is still there. Something that will see this accelerated is a new update to the game that has been confirmed by the developer will be made available to all current owners. The update, a graphical upgrade will see MIND: Path to Thalamus move from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 4.
MIND: Path to Thalamus has players engage with puzzles in unusual ways, having them solve them through manipulation of the reality around them; be it through illumination, the passage of time or even through the weather. The game also has an ongoing narrative of a father, who, having made mistakes in his life attempts to address them.
The new version, as reported by indiemag.fr, notes on the screenshots the UE4 version is specifically VR optimised compared to the previous UDK or UE3 versions.
