Arguably one of the most exciting new virtual reality (VR) titles to be announced at E3 2015 in Los Angeles, California last week was RIGS: Mechanised Combat League. This new first-person shooter (FPS) from Guerrilla Cambridge impressed with its thoughtful take on VR multiplayer, in which two teams of players command mechs known as RIGS in intense matches. VRFocus got the chance to speak to Director Piers Jackson at the show. That talk can now be seen below.
In this brief interview, Jackson talks about the origins of RIGS: Mechanised Combat League, and why Guerrilla Cambridge took on the challenge of an FPS with its debut VR project. There’s also mention of the title’s first mode, Power Slam, and the three classes that were on offer in these matches. As Jackson mentions, news on more modes, classes and a release date are being held for later announcements.
VRFocus will continue to follow RIGS: Mechanised Combat League closely, reporting back with any further updates on the device.
