Following Oculus VR’s ‘Step into the Rift’ press conference, San Francisco, last week, in which CCP Games’ EVE Valkyrie played a significant part of the videogame reveals, VRFocus has learned that a new build of the title will be playable at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Los Angeles, this week. The title will be playable on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), also revealed last week.
EVE Valkyrie has been championed as one of the pioneers of virtual reality (VR) videogames despite its decidedly humble beginnings as a technical demonstration at EVE Fanfest 2013. Oculus VR themselves will publish EVE Valkyrie for the Oculus Rift HMD through a partnership with CCP Games, though a Project Morpheus version of the videogame is also in development.
It’s not currently known what will be new in this build, however VRFocus was informed that a ‘lot of minor touches’ will be evident to those who have played previous builds. Yesterday CCP Games revealed that EVE Valkyrie would be playable on both the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus at E3, and VRFocus will be reporting live with all the latest details from the show floor.
