Back in April 2015 VRFocus reported that indie developer Drowning Monkeys Games would be releasing its strategy role-playing game (SRPG), Dungeon Crawlers HD, on PC with support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). This week sees the developer launch that title over on Steam. It is priced at £3.29 GBP.
Described by its developer as ‘what Ghostbusters might’ve looked like if it were set in a dungeon’, Dungeon Crawlers HD is a turn-based title that’s designed to be highly streamlined and accessible. Drowning Monkeys Games claims that a comedic story is at the videogame’s heart, supporting a six to eight hour campaign that will have more added to it in the form of challenge maps. The title boasts a fantasy setting, with players using swords and more to defeat mythical monsters.
The title is already available via the iOS operating system (OS) and recently arrived on Android. It’s not yet clear if it might one day support other HMDs such at the HTC Vive, which is due to launch in time for holiday 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow Dungeon Crawlers HD, reporting back with any further updates on the title.
