A somewhat subdued launch of two simultaneous campaigns, Brunelleschi: Age of Architects is now live on both Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter. Developed by a team of just 3, lead by Matthew Mitchum, Brunelleschi: Age of Architects is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) title that promotes strategy and civilisation development ahead of reaction-based combat.
Brunelleschi: Age of Architects encourages the player to overcome their foes through clever manipulation of economic principles over direct conflict, though the latter is available should your arms surpass those of a rival nation. Upon entering battle the player will become a highly trained unit from their army, developing unique statistics and claiming armour and equipment for their own. This part of the videogame will be compatible with the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD).
The Kickstarter campaign for Brunelleschi: Age of Architects is a little unusual, as the intention is not to help fund the development of the videogame but rather provide the costs for achieving a successful Steam Greenlight approval. Therefore the funding goal has been set at just $100 USD. Pledges for Brunelleschi: Age of Architects start at $1, offering in-game credit, and stretch to $10,000, which will ensure that the donator has their own personal world of Brunelleschi: Age of Architects to rule over, including prestige as the first Sovereign of the territory.
You can find out more details on Brunelleschi: Age of Architects at the official Steam Greenlight page for the videogame and also on Kickstarter. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Brunelleschi: Age of Architects.
