One of the more popular experiences for virtual reality (VR) is the simulation, in some form or another, of flight. Whether it is soaring like a bird or experiencing a more floating, out of body experience, users often find it is the most effective, relaxing and connective form of virtual experience. Another new addition to this genre comes in the form of Bird’s Eye on the Oculus VR Share platform.
In this Zulubo Productions videogame for the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD), users as the title suggest take on the guise of a bird swopping and soaring through the skies above an endless landscape below. Whilst an exploration game you may find it does come with a bit of difficulty as flight is specifically based around the mechanics of a bird against natural factors such as gravity and resistance. As a result you may find yourself crashing into the ground a lot at first, but some perseverance and practice will see you get to grips with the controls.
Currently in Beta, the developers hope future updates will include multiplayer, specific mission objectives to complete and additional levels. Users can find out more information and download Bird’s Eye here on Oculus VR Share.
VRFocus will continue to bring you new videogames and experiences added to the platform.
