It sounds almost too good to be true, but consumer virtual reality (VR) really is nearing. Four major head-mounted displays (HMDs) will be launching from the end of 2015 into the first half of 2016, including the consumer Gear VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus. It’s an exciting time to be a VR fan, and a panel of experts will be talking about this period today at the Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) Conference & Expo. VRFocus will be liveblogging the panel, titled ‘The Rise of Consumer VR’, below.
Speaking on the panel is Oculus’ Palmer Luckey, Sixense’s Amir Rubin, Google’s Clay Bavor and Samsung’s Nicholas DiCarlo. The session will be moderated by Road to VR’s Ben Lang. It gets underway at 11:00 PDT.
