This year’s Develop Conference, taking place 14th – 16th July 2015, Brighton, has already been confirmed as an interesting venue for discussions on virtual reality (VR) development with Triangular Pixels’ Katie Goode and Ana Ribeiro, creator of Pixel Ripped, set to host speaker sessions. Today sees new additions to that line-up announced however, with Hammerhead VR and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) to offer speaker sessions specifically on VR.
SCEE will offer panels from 3 VR developers across the 3 days of the event. John Foster will present ‘Forget About VR – Designing for Believe-ability’, while Simon Gumbleton will offer a developer session on VR audio, entitled ‘VR Audio Bootcamp: Exploring the New Technical and Creative Frontiers for Sound Design in Virtual Reality Experiences’. Nick Ford-Woxton will host one session, ‘VR Audio: The Feedback Loop’ and also participate in Simon Gumbleton’s ‘bootcamp’.
On behalf of Hammerhead VR, Richard Tongeman will discuss ‘VR Immersive Film: A New Creative Medium’. The official description of the talk reads: “A practical guide to achieving a sense of presence in your films. How can we reproduce PC visuals in real-time on Mobile VR devices? We take a look at the latest technologies and techniques available to filmmakers and how they can be combined in an emerging workflow to help aid and immerse your viewer.”
This year’s Develop Conference will be hosted at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, commencing 14th June 2015. ‘Early Bird’ tickets for the event are still available via the official website and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest VR additions to the line-up of speakers and panellists.
