The currently ongoing Phoenix Comicon has two sweet surprises in store for fans of virtual reality (VR), as Broken Window Studios have revealed that their two in-development projects, Reflections and Grave are playable at the event. Running 28th – 31st May 2015, Phoenix, Arizona, the event hosts a number of videogame, television and movie based attractions.
Broken Window Studios’ Grave was announced early last year and benefited from a successful Kickstarter campaign. Currently in development for PC and Xbox One, with the former intended to be compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), Grave is a horror experience set in a desolate wasteland. VRFocus got hands-on with Grave last year, stating in a preview: “The short sample of Grave that VRFocus was allowed time with was a confusing experience. There is clearly going to be a huge world to explore, numerous enemies to encounter and some interesting weaponry to tackle them with.”
Reflections, despite appearing to be the new boy on the block, is actually the older of the two titles Broken Window Studios is currently working on. The brainchild of Tristan Parrish Moore, Creative Director at Broken Window Studios, Reflections was a title that was worked on some years ago before being put aside in favour of Grave. Now it’s back, and it’s certainly looking promising.
Both titles are playable at Phoenix Comicon this week as part of an exhibition known as ‘Arizona Videogames Showcase’, which the event organisers bill as “highlighting around 20 of the most awesome games Arizona has to offer.” VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on both Reflections and Grave.
