Indie developer Endtimes Studio is currently pushing a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign for a new virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame named Plugged. The campaign hopes to raise some £20,000 GBP by 30th May 2015 in order to launch the title on PC, Mac and Linux with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). This week has seen the studio provide new details about the story of its upcoming project.
Plugged casts players as a man that is given the chance to revisit key moments in his life and make different choices to the ones he made originally. For example, at one point the player is given a choice between attending a job interview to support his family, or skipping it to pursue a possible affair with an old high school flame. Each choice will lead players down new paths, resulting in a variety of different endings. The title even lets players revisit these scenes, allowing them to twist them and discover all possible paths that the protagonist’s life might have taken.
Those interested in Plugged can currently pledge £10 to secure a digital copy of the title in time for its intended launch in July 2015. Backer rewards continue all the way up to £3,000, where two backers will be able to design two of the title’s possible endings. It’s currently not clear if the title might end up coming to other HMDs such at Valve and HTC’s Vive. VRFocus will continue to follow Plugged closely, reporting back with all of the latest updates on the videogame.
