All eyes might be on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) right now, but Oculus itself isn’t done showcasing what is likely its last prototype for the kit, Crescent Bay. The company will be taking this iteration of the device to this week’s Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) Conference & Expo on 18th – 19th May, and is currently taking bookings for those attending the event to sample a demo of it.
Those interested in testing out Crescent Bay can download the free Oculus Live app either on iOS or Android, grab the guide for SVVR and click the ‘Book Demo’ icon to be presented with a list of slots. The ‘Details’ section of the app confirms that it will be Crescent Bay on display and sadly not the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, which is scheduled to ship in the first quarter of 2016.
There’s far more to see and do at this year’s SVVR Conference & Expo, which takes place at the San Jose Convention Center. Along with Oculus, representatives from Valve, Epic Games, Dreamworks Animations and Nvidia will be at the show, either hosting sessions on VR or taking part in various panels.
VRFocus is at SVVR Conference & Expo to deliver all of the latest updates in the VR world.
