The Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) Conference & Expo may be just getting underway but it’s not the only VR-related event to take place this week. The NEXON Developer Conference is also scheduled to take place between 19th – 21st May 2015 in Seongnam, South Korea. Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) creator, Oculus, will be there showcasing its Crescent Bay prototype, and will even be hosting a talk on VR on the event’s first day.
Oculus’ talk is titled ‘Future of VR with Oculus SDK’ and will get underway at 15:00 GMT+9 on 19th May. It’s not clear exactly what the company will touch on during the talk, though no doubt many will be hoping to hear some more information on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, however slight. Oculus also appears to be taking bookings to see the Crescent Bay via its Oculus Live events app, which can be downloaded for free on both iOS and Android.
The company recently confirmed that the retail edition would be coming in Q1 2016 and even went into detail about the recommended PC specifications for the device. Meanwhile at SVVR Conference & Expo, Oculus is again taking bookings to see demos of the Crescent Bay version of the device.
VRFocus will continue to follow Oculus and its progress with the Oculus Rift closely, reporting back with the latest updates.
