Earlier in the month VRFocus reported on the news that Salvaged, a new virtual reality (VR) compatible title from UK-based Opposable Games, is set to be ‘reborn’ following a failed Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign. At the time the developer merely hinted at what this could mean for the title, which supports the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Now Opposable Games has released images of the new Salvaged, featuring fan’s first look at the improved VR support and characters that will appear in the title.
The first of a range of images showcases the new Command Room that players will find themselves in when using the Oculus Rift. Salvaged prides itself on two-screen gameplay, asking players to use a tablet to control a squad when using a standard monitor and providing each screen in a virtual environment when in VR. The new Salvaged is positioned more as a tactical shooter, pulling away from some of the ‘run ‘n’ gun’ aspects of the original version. As shown in the images, players will be provided with a map of levels that they use to issue commands.
This new edition will also place a heavy emphasis on story, with the remaining images showcasing some of the new characters players can expect to encounter in the title.
VRFocus will continue to follow Salvaged closely, reporting back with the latest updates on the title.
