Breakout Studio has today revealed more details on the dynamic weather that will be featured in the forthcoming Life of Rome. Currently undergoing an Indiegogo campaign, Life of Rome is in development for PC and will be compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
An ambitious recreation of Ancient Rome in virtual reality (VR), Breakout Studios revealed that Life of Rome would present a day/night cycle last year. Today, new details on the natural environment have also been revealed in a new video, available below.
Posting on the official website for Life of Rome, Breakout Studios have offered more information on the advantages of including a dynamic weather system: “We’re in the final stages of testing a new dynamic, high-fidelity sky rendering and weather system for Life of Rome. There are no sky boxes or static elements, everything from the clouds to each individual star is it’s own individual element with appropriate movement and behaviour. Ambient sound effects, advanced rain and snow weather effects, multi-layer dynamic cloud formations and beautiful night sky rendering.”
Life of Rome‘s Indiegogo campaign draws to a close today, currently far short of its £10,000 GBP goal. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Life of Rome revealed by Breakout Studios.
