After its successful campaign on the Steam Greenlight platform where it was passed by the vote of the Steam community and directly following on from its announcement earlier in the week, American virtual reality (VR) studio Ghost Machine was pleased to announce today that its F-16 fighter simulator Final Strike has been released in Alpha form for $9.95 USD.
“The Final Strike launch is a new milestone for Ghost Machine.” Ghost Machine CEO Neal Nellans commented, in regards to the successful campaign. “We’re excited to launch the game for Oculus DK2 developers and enthusiasts and look forward to continued feedback from the VR community.”
As confirmed in a press release put out by the studio, purchasing the Alpha is also effectively a pre-order; with those who buy the Alpha on Steam being upgraded to the full version upon its release.
As mentioned above the videogame is playable with the Oculus Rift DK2 head-mounted display (HMD) the title features virtual reality compatibility across both the game and menu systems. However as revealed by Oculus’ John Carmack yesterday owners without a Oculus Rift DK2 may need to act fast in order to acquire one.
