There are plenty of unusual experiences for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). Alien Makeout Simulator, for example, allows players to get a little too close to multi-mouthed beings while Soda Drinker Pro is a surreal trip through strange environments with a beverage in hand. None are weirder than Phr00t’s Software’s Spermination, however. This VR compatible title recently passed its Steam Greenlight campaign, meaning that it will be available on Valve’s digital PC store come full release.
Spermination takes place inside a uterus, tasking players with eliminating competing sperm. Each environment is procedurally generated and lined with defences, meaning a new challenge awaits with every new life. Players control a vehicle that they can equip with a range of different weapons and abilities. A store title the ‘Sperm Bank’ can be visited between rounds to purchase new equipment.
The title is actually already available via an official website for £1.99 GBP. Those that have picked up the digital version will be granted a Steam key upon its release there. A date for the Steam version is yet to be announced.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with the latest updates on them.
