Last week indie developer Parabole confirmed that its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame, Kôna, would be launching in pre-release form on Steam’s Early Access service in July 2015 ahead of the launch of the first full episode in September. But that wasn’t all the studio had to share; it also revealed some new screenshots of its upcoming title, which features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Said screenshots can now be seen below.
A total of three screenshots are on display, each of which reveals a new feature for Kôna. The first is a shot of the title’s inventory system, which the studio describes as basic at this point in time, but being added to. A video showcasing the system will be revealed in the near future.
The second image reveals a first look at wolves in Kôna. According to Parabole these animals can only be fed or attacked at this point in time, though other means of interaction will be added in the future. Finally, there’s a look at 3D captions. These are essentially messages too short for narration, thus have been implemented into the game world, something that will no doubt prove useful for those using the Oculus Rift.
VRFocus will continue to follow Kôna‘s progress, reporting back with the latest updates on it.
