Last month VRFocus reports reported on the launch of a Steam Greenlight campaign for VROOM: Aerie from developer kideternal. The virtual reality (VR) compatible title is an interactive apartment environment that players can explore, finding items to use. Now kideternal has launched another Steam Greenlight campaign for a similar videogame that uses the VROOM branding, this time named VROOM: Galleon, which is set to arrive on both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive head-mounted displays (HMDs) in the future.
As with VROOM: Aerie, VROOM: Galleon is a first-person exploration experience, this time allowing players to walk around an English 16th-century race-built galleon, which the developer claims has been remade in VR with historical accuracy. Players will be able to walk into cabins, fire one of the 12 cannons found on board, climb up to the ship’s crow’s nest, discover their own collection of treasure and even take control of a seagull and fly around the area.
The developer intends to release VROOM: Galleon in summer 2015 should its Steam Greenlight campaign go to plan. VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with any further updates on it.
