Following their successful Kickstarter, Descendant Studios has also revealed a new trailer which showcases not only the history of the Descent series but also gives a taste of what is to come in Descent: Underground. The title, a ‘six-degrees-of-freedom’ space combat simulator taking place in the twenty-fourth century, is due to receive virtual reality (VR) support for the Oculus Rift and Valve’s HTC Vive head-mounted display (HMD).
Additionally in a late update on the Descendant Studios website Thursday, the Descent: Underground team gave an update on their post-Kickstarter plans, including plans to utilise Steam Greenlight and adjustment of game packages in order to make the game more ‘accessible’. The YouTube version of their Wednesday developer livestream ‘Wingman’s Hangout’ can be found below.
The blog also confirmed a regular schedule of daily blog, fan outreach and video updates for the website including focuses on design, development and game lore.
VRFocus will continue to bring you news on Descent: Underground as it comes in.
