If there was one thing to take away from this year’s EVE Fanfest event in Reykjavik, Iceland, it’s that CCP Games is serious about virtual reality (VR). Not only did the company tease several new experiments from a new group of teams called VR Labs, but it also placed a heavy emphasis on its upcoming multiplayer space combat title and VR poster boy, EVE: Valkyrie. The title has seen numerous updates since it was last put on show and VRFocus caught up with CCP Games itself to talk a bit about them.
In the interview below, CCP Games Newscastle’s Erich Cooper discusses his role in designing some of the new editions to EVE: Valkyries cast of ships. He also talks about possible links between the title and the flagship videogame in the EVE universe, EVE Online.
EVE: Valkyrie is aiming to release alongside both the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus head-mounted displays (HMDs). VRFocus will continue to follow the title closely, reporting back with the latest updates on it.
