It’s been a while since the developers of massively multiplayer online first-person shooter (MMOFPS) Beasts of Prey have shared an update on the title. The videogame, which is currently available through Steam’s Early Access system, has seen regular updates since its launch last year but these have slowed down as of late. The reason for this has recently been revealed; Beasts of Prey is to get a brand new game world and user interface (UI) in the near future. An image of the new area can be seen below.
The news was revealed via Beasts of Prey‘s Twitter account. “New game-world, new UI and Stegosaurus animations is finished. Now we are updating the server. Patch coming soon,” the message read. No further details were revealed, although the image included suggests that the new game world may boast improved and more detailed visuals than what’s previously been see in Beasts of Prey. It’s also not clear if this patch will finally move the videogame out of its Early Access phase, where it has stayed since June 2014.
Beasts of Prey features full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). The title tasks players with surviving in a sandbox environment filled with threats that, as the name suggests, include dinosaurs. Players will construct their own settlements and craft their own armour and weapons. It can currently be picked up for £13.99 GBP.
VRFocus will continue to follow Beasts of Prey, reporting back with the latest updates on it.
