This week sees the release of a music video on Oculus VR Share named An Unseen Sky VR. The video takes the audience through a virtual reality (VR) world. The title is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
The music is intended to complement the images on screen by starting underground as the character make its way through darkened tunnels towards the light. Following this, the player is taken out to a grassy plain with mountains in the distance. As the music develops, the images turn from being a sunny day to what appears to be the start of a storm.
The project was collaboration between composer David Rosen and VR company Elemental Spark. The aim is to push the boundaries of conventional music videos by creating this artistic title.
