VRFocus have previously reported on Toxic Games’ virtual reality (VR) experience Q.U.B.E.. The revised director’s cut edition of the videogame, developed by Grip Games, has been available on PC for some time however, it looks like the title is soon to be released on Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) PlayStation 4. Currently the title is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), however it is not yet known if it will supports the Project Morpheus HMD.
Q.U.B.E. is considered to be similar to other titles such as Magrunner: Dark Pulse, Quantum Conundrum and Valve’s Portal series. The title allows players to use special gloves to manipulate cubes and solve certain puzzles. The puzzles will range from jigsaws to time specific dexterity challenges.
The title prides itself as having a puzzling narrative running side by side with the challenges. Something which has been added to the director’s cut is a time trial mode named ‘against the Qlock’ in which users will have to solve puzzles within a timeframe.
It is due to release in the summer 2015 though it is unknown if the title with receive Project Morpheus compatibility. VRFocus will keep you updated on the latest from Q.U.B.E..
