Quickly following the reveal of Vive, the HTC head-mounted display (HMD) confirmed to be a collaboration with widely respected videogame developer and Steam platform owner Valve, Owlchemy Labs have announced that they will be showcasing their debut title for the system at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), San Francisco, this week. The videogame will be a brand new title, unrelated to the studio’s previous virtual reality (VR) work.
Set in 2050, Job Simulator depicts a world where robots have been created to take care of everyday chores. This includes cleaning and, as can be seen in the screenshots on this very page, cooking. Job Simulator is a VR exclusive title currently in development for Steam VR, Oculus Rift and other as-yet-unannounced HMDs. The title will make it’s debut on Valve’s booth at GDC this week, alongside a number of other yet to be confirmed VR videogames.
Job Simulator has apparently been in development for 5 months and will launch in the latter part of 2015. VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest details on Job Simulator and other forthcoming Steam VR titles.
