Recently available on Oculus VR Share is NewRetroArcade. The title allows players to roam around a arcade in virtual reality (VR) playing with the different consoles reminiscent of many videogamers childhood devices. It is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
New Retro Arcade aims to provide what is described as a ‘slice of the 80’s’. Built using the Unreal Engine 4, users can try out different consoles popular at the time. Even the music is intended to add to the nostalgic factor. The videogame is one part experience and another part emulator as all the consoles are playable down to popular videogames at the time. Players can add their own ROMs, art and music to create a much more personal experience.
However consoles are not the only thing which is offered as the title allows users to play with a functioning dartboard, ten pin bowling alley and basketball machines.
As stated by the developer, this is a tech demo intended on being a learning experience using the Unreal 4 Engine. VRFocus will keep you updated on the latest from Oculus VR Share.
