VRFocus previously reported on Oculus VR Share title Maze Roller becoming available on Oculus VR’s digital sharing platform. Now the videogame has launched a Steam Greenlight Campaign in an effort to release the title on Valve’s digital sharing platform. Also the developers MeekatGaming has launched a Kickstarter campaign. The title is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) as well a Samsung’s Gear VR.
A lot has changed since VRFocus reported on the title. Maze Roller allows players to make their way through a labyrinth as a ball. Different levels and videogame modes will feature different experiences. Multi-level maps will force the player to find a way up or down levels. Others like vertical mazes add a strange new dimension to the title. Most maps will feature obstacles to traverse like springboards as well as gaps in the floor.
Newly announced was obstacles on some of the fantasy levels, like Ogres and Trolls which will attempt to destroy the player should the marble get too close. Other ‘unlikeables’ will actively try to pursue the marble to take it out of the videogame.
The Kickstarter campaign is currently asking for $5000 USD. MeerkatGaming expressed interest in bringing the title to Playstation’s Project Morpheus in the future. VRFocus will keep you updated as this progresses.
