Today Jaunt announced a brand new 360 degree video project, partnered with outdoor apparel brand North Face, that will make it’s debut at South by Southwest (SXSW), Texas, this weekend. Jaunt have already established a reputation for delivering high quality video to virtual reality (VR) head-mounted displays (HMDs) however, and VRFocus recently sat down with CEO Jens Christensen to discuss where the company came from and the path that it intends to follow in 2015.
Whether it be working with motion-picture studios on big name franchises, recording live music performances or working with artists on something altogether unique, Jaunt have shown time-and-again exactly why they are considered one of the leaders in their field. Christensen, however, welcomes others working on 360 degree video to join the fray enthusing that a wider spectrum of content is good for all involved. In the interview below, Christensen discusses the path that lead Jaunt to the position the company is in now and where he sees the future taking them, at least in the short term.
Jaunt’s work with North Face will be available at SXSW this weekend and will be available at selected retail outlets across North America from 16th March 2015. A public release will be made available later in the year and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest from Jaunt.
