One of the first virtual reality (VR) videogames to be announced Samsung’s Gear VR smartphone-based head-mounted display (HMD) was Smash Hit Plunder from Triangular Pixels. The intriguing first-person videogame was confirmed for the kit just as soon as it was revealed in September 2014, with the developer currently hoping to launch its first demo onto the device by the end of the month. Today sees the studio release the first ever trailer for Smash Hit Plunder, which can now be seen below.
Consisting over a minute and a half of footage, the trailer showcases Smash Hit Plunder‘s room ruining gameplay in all of its glory. Players are tasked with gathering as much treasure as possible. To do this, they must smash objects located around a castle environment by using a levitation spell to pick them up and then throw them across a room. Players are awarded with loot for broken items.
The title boasts a unique retro art style, with pixelated objects bursting into tiny pieces upon impact with a wall or floor. The only item that doesn’t adopt this look is a book that the players hold at all times, which keeps track of their progress in the given level.
While the demo for Smash Hit Plunder will hopefully launch towards the end of March 2015, the full version of the title is yet to be dated. VRFocus will continue to follow the videogame closely, reporting back with any further updates on them.
