Last year at EVE Fanfest CCP Games revealed that Battlestar Galactica‘s Katee Sackhoff will be joining the cast of upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible multiplayer space combat title, EVE: Valkyrie. Sackoff will play a character named ‘Raan’ that will also be the focus of an upcoming comic book series published by Dark Horse. Today at the 2015 edition of EVE Fanfest CCP Games revealed the first look at the character.
The image of Raan can be seen below, looking similar to Sackhoff herself. In the title players will be able to hear Sackhoff’s voice as they prepare to head into battle. A demo of the title first shown at EVE Fanfest saw her character guide players through a convoy of ships before heading into battle, flying a Valkyrie of her own.
EVE: Valkyrie is heading to the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) on PC and the Project Morpheus HMD on PlayStation 4. CCP Games also announced expanded work in VR at this year’s EVE Fanfest, revealing the first look at VR Labs, two small teams based in Shanghai, China and Atlanta, Georgia, USA. VRFocus will continue to follow the company’s work with the tech, reporting back with any further updates.
