VRFocus has previously reported on Ghost Machine’s first person dog-fighting title Final Strike launching a Steam Greenlight campaign. Now the title has secured the necessary votes, it will become available on Valve’s digital sharing platform. It is due to release with Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) compatibility.
The aim of Final Strike is to take players back to classic fighter jet films like Top Gun while re-enacting scenes similar Independence Day. In recreating epic scenes, the title hopes to deliver not just a free flowing videogame, but also a cinematic experience. Adding to this level of depth is the first person perspective which will allow users to target enemy fighters easier through the use of the heads up display (HUD).
Users will be put through their paces in immersive missions and combat challenges which aim to test the player’s skills. During flight, pilots can use the missiles or machine guns to dispatch enemies. Enemy difficulty levels will be shown through the HUD’s targeting system. It is up to the player how they choose to approach these situations.
VRFocus will keep you updated as Final Strike progresses.
