Previously VRFocus reported on Faceted Flight launching its Steam Greenlight campaign back in December 2014, however now the title has received enough up-votes to become available on Valve’s digital sharing platform. The videogame is set to be available for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
The title is set in a retro sci-fi universe in which pilots are considered to be celebrities. Players will take on the role of one of these pilots and jump into the cockpit of the vehicles called hover-jets. Users will then be able to fly through the stylistic low polygon environments
Faceted Flight aims to capture the euphoria of flying in the hover-jet using virtual reality (VR). Using the Oculus Rift HMD, players have to fly through course passing through the rings as quickly as possible. The final release will feature an array of different modes, including ring attack and multiplayer races. Currently the title has added AI bots to race against.
Currently the title has been geared towards adding in new modes as well as new vehicles to prepare for the final release in September 2015. A demo is already available to play and is constantly being updated with new things for the players to try, most notably AI racers.
VRFocus will keep you updated on the progress of Faceted Flight.
