Today at EVE Fanfest 2015, a new trailer detailing a new map as well as gameplay was revealed for virtual reality (VR) title EVE: Valkyrie. CCP Games received a lot of interest following the reveal of the videogame last year. The title is to be compatible with the Oculus Rift head mounted display (HMD).
EVE: Valkyrie is a multiplayer space combat experience set in the EVE Online universe. The title has been highly anticipated as it is going to add a new dimension to first person dog fighting videogames. It will feature a great deal of small fighter ships each with their own weapons and features.
Shown in the gameplay trailer was the heavily detailed models not only inside the cockpit. The entire environment is intended to immerse the player. Also, it features some of the story as the convoy of giant ships gets ambushed by enemies. It is then that the player engages enemy fighters. Unlike most dog fighting titles, the trailer shows a lot of fighting amongst the various ships along the convoy. The cockpit’s heads up display (HUD) also shows players where the enemy is, making it easier than ever for them to identify enemy pilots.
It is unknown when the title aims to release however a small beta is due to rollout soon. VRFocus will keep you updated on the latest from EVE Fanfest.
