New to Oculus VR Share is the virtual reality (VR) experience Escalation. Though just a demo, the experience will take from 1 to 2 hours to complete. It is compatible with the second iteration of Oculus Rift (DK2) head-mounted display (HMD).
Using the Unity 4 videogame engine, the experience acts as a framework for other first person experiences. The aim is to offer an insight in what users could create. All of the models in the title are downloadable to anyone.
The technical demo features several different environments which allow different experiences. Players are able to swim in the water, climb ladders as well as skate across ice. Along with this there are different sounds when walking on the different surfaces. Users are able to change the time of day with an easy to use day and night cycle.
In the world, there are breakable objects featuring impact damage which allows players to deal damage to objects. Creatures also run around the environment all with different animations including hopping, flying as well as swimming. Some of these are reminiscent of the Pokemon franchise as well as Spyro The Dragon.
VRFocus will keep you updated on the latest from Oculus VR Share.
