New to Oculus VR Share is virtual reality (VR) title Dinosaurs. The videogame provides an opportunity for users to travel back in time to the Jurassic period 200 million years ago to meet the dominant vertebrates at the time. It is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
The aim of the title is for teachers to give context during lessons by being able to show the students what the dinosaurs would have been like. In the Oculus VR Share description, the developer cites Brendan Iribe, Chief Executive at Oculus VR stating: “We believe this is going to be one of the most transformative platforms for education of all time”. This is something evidently the developer feels very strongly about.
Dinosaurs will allow players to wander a valley from the past while spotting the 16 different types of dinosaurs. The complete list includes Spinosaurus, Centrosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Compsognathus, Tyrannosaurus-Rex (T-Rex), Ankylosaurus, Stegosaurus, Gastornis, Brontosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Triceratops, Velociraptors, Dilophosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Deinonychus and Pterodactyl.
