The Virtual Reality Los Angeles (VRLA) meet up event closed out 2014 on a high note last December with a show packed with new VR experiences, hardware and more. For 2015 things will be working a little differently, as the group has announced today. VRLA has scheduled its next event but, rather than a simple meet up, the group will now be hosting quarterly events that fans can either purchase single tickets for or sign up to a new subscription service.
The first of these events is the VRLA Spring Expo, taking place on 22nd March 2015 at the Marriott hotel in LA. A list of exhibitors is yet to be revealed, although tickets can be purchased now either through the expo’s official website or on an official widget below. General admission tickets are available for an early price of $20 USD and grant access from 13:00 PST while VIP tickets, currently available at an early bird price of $50, allow entry at 11:00. A student price of $15 is also available.
As for the subscription service, VRLA has announced VRLA Sphere. This unique offering will grant customers free VIP passes to all VRLA Expo events as well as invites to members-only dinners and networking events, lessons from experts on popular videogame development engines Unity and Unreal Engine 4 and discounts on other VR hardware and software. It’s an intriguing offering that any LA-based VR developers and fans will certainly want to consider.
VRFocus will continue to follow VRLA closely, reporting back with any further updates from the company.
