SVVR and SFVR have today announced the second annual GDC VR Mixer will take place on 5th March 2015 from 6:30 PM – 10:30 PM PST in downtown San Francisco. This time, the team have booked a 20,000 sq. ft. venue to showcase the newest virtual reality (VR) technology while making sure attendees have plenty of space to socialise.
Last year’s GDC VR Mixer was considered a resounding success, with those unable to get early tickets queuing around the block in the hope of gaining access. With that in mind, the team are aiming to offer another unforgettable night of VR fun in 2015. This year’s event will provide free catering and a full cash bar in addition to live music performances of [NUREN] The New Renaissance, the VR Music experience by Jake Kaufman & Jessie Seely, and from Danimal Cannon (Proton Pulse).
The event will take place in the multi-floor venue, Temple, 540 Howard Street, San Francisco, which has recently been renovated and boasts an incredible sound system, accompanied by wall-to-wall LED matrix, and most importantly, quiet areas for conversation. For independent developers, there will be a whole floor of open VR demo tables.
Last year’s sold-out GDC VR Mixer was attended by hundreds of the top VR videogame developers and industry leaders, including Untold Games, nDreams and Palmer Luckey, founder of Oculus. The 2015 GDC VR Mixer is sponsored by Leap Motion, Jaunt, Samsung, NextVR, AltspaceVR, & Sixense.
