Previously VRFocus reported on Broken Window Studios’ virtual reality (VR) title Reflections launching its Steam Greenlight campaign. However after only seven days the title was greenlight to release on Valve’s content sharing platform. The title is set to be compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD).
Broken Window Studios’ title takes a very different approach to their other title in development Grave. Reflections places users in the role of a young man, soon to go off to experience the real world. Today is the day the character leaves so they have one day to get their affairs in order. Using a unique story-teller engine, the videogame’s story will revolve around the player’s actions as it constantly adapts depending on what the user decides to do.
One of the main points of the title is the full environmental and social interaction. Everything in the videogame is intended to serve a purpose and provides a function for the player to use. Socially the player can form relationships which will last the remaining three acts. However, users don’t need to get their affairs in order, they can simply investigate the world and go exploring. When interacting with the videogame world, the black and white style will be given colour.
The title is due to release for in April 2015, but this may be subject to change. VRFocus will keep you updated on the progress of Reflections.
