It’s been a busy few months for UK-based indie developer Tammeka Games. Late last year the studio launched the Early Access version of its anticipated virtual reality (VR) compatible sci-fi racer, Radial-G. Earlier this week the team also confirmed that it was one of 13 new partners for Open-Source Virtual Reality (OSVR), the Razer spear-headed initiative that aims to make VR development accessible across different platforms, hardware and software. Now Tammeka Games has also confirmed that it will be bringing Radial-G to a major indie-focused event next month.
The developer has announced that Radial-G will be on display at EGX Rezzed in London from 12th – 14th March 2015 at the Tobacco Dock. Two versions of the title will be on display, one running on standard monitors and another using the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). So far only one other VR videogame has been confirmed for the event in Omega Agent, the upcoming open world experience for Samsung’s Gear VR smartphone-based HMD, developed by The Room creator Fireproof Games. Tickets to the event are on sale now from its official website.
Radial-G is a sci-fi racing experience in which players race on tubular courses through a variety of futuristic environments. The title is currently available on Early Access for £9.99 GBP with 16 player multiplayer and a handful of tracks and vehicles. Tammeka Games is planning to release monthly updates in the build up to a full launch, which is planned for May. The full version of the title will feature a wide variety of tracks and environments along with different vehicles and support for online multiplayer with up to 32 players.
Expect more VR compatible videogames to be announced for Rezzed in the build up to the event. VRFocus will continue to follow Radial-G‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates on it.
