Newly added to Oculus VR Share is a virtual reality (VR) music based experience. Developed by Eduardo Soto, Virtual Drums allows player to perform on a drum set. The title is compatible with the first and second Oculus Rift development kit (DK1, DK2) head-mounted display (HMD). Also required to play is the Razer Hydra motion controllers.
Playing the title is relatively simple, using certain Hydra bumpers and buttons to hit the bass drum, and hi-hat as usually the artist’s feet would play those parts.. To hit the others, users must move their arms to the correct drum. Apart from that, it is at the player’s leisure what they want to start playing. On the title, people can learn to play basic songs and rhythms. By hitting ‘one’ on the controller, users enter a concert mode where they will be in front of an audience playing. The developer states on the Oculus VR Share page, that although the experience only works with the Razer Hydras, he has been considering other options like the Wii remotes or the Playstation Move.
