New to Oculus VR Share is the virtual reality (VR) experience Hypnagogia developed by Pixiludiq. The title is an atmospheric horror videogame which allows people to observe the point between being awake and falling asleep. Hypnagogia is compatible with the second iteration of the Oculus Rift (DK2) head-mounted display (HMD).
Hypnagogia is based around a transitional period between being awake to falling asleep. The mental phenomenon by the same name renders users motionless due to sleep paralysis as well as subjecting them to hallucinations. Player’s are simply asked to endure the experience as there are no controls except those which send you deeper into sleep. The title is intended to re-enact what people with hypnagogia go through as well as using the phenomena as a device to create a horrifying experience.
The videogame is the developer’s first attempt at utilising the Unity software. The title has been updated with a new Oculus friendly main title screen as well as new animations. Textures, ambient light and fog have also been retouched.
The developer aims to add more content as well of retouching the videogame to make it more immersive. VRFocus will keep you updated on new Oculus VR Share content.
