Indie developer Giuseppe Belfiore has created a new virtual reality (VR) horror experience Doors of Silence available on Oculus VR Share. The experience doesn’t allow a lot of gameplay mechanics however offers atmospheric horror in return. The title is compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) second development kit (DK2).
The character is trapped in a seemingly abandoned building. It is the job of the player to get the character out. Users must search through the run down areas to look for a way to escape. Filled with jump scares, the title intends to have the player hiding to escape a creature which pursues the player. Other than finding a way out players will experience the terror of the simplest noises like static and creaking doors or floorboards. Finding some objects will often trigger certain things to change which refreshes the experience.
VRFocus will keep you updated on all upcoming horror videogames.
