It’s been a while since indie developer Cloudhead Games has provided an update on its anticipated upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogame, The Gallery: Six Elements. In fact, one of the last major showings for the title was the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC) last March. As it turns out, fans will next see the experience, which runs with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), at this year’s edition of the show in San Francisco, California, USA from 2nd – 6th March.
Cloudhead Games recently took to Facebook to confirm that it would be returning to GDC this year. “We can’t wait to talk about the magic in this box,” the developer teased. “GDC can’t come soon enough!” Accompanied with the message was a picture of the team packing what could be new hardware into a box. The image can be seen below.
The Gallery: Six Elements is a first-person adventure videogame that focuses on motion controls, featuring support for the Sixense STEM System controllers. With that in mind, it could be that the item in the box is a new version of this controller, or perhaps a new input system altogether. If not that, there’s also the possibility that it could be a new VR HMD with updates on Oculus Rift, Gear VR and Project Morpheus all rumoured for the show as well as the confirmed reveal of SteamVR from Valve.
VRFocus will be at GDC next week, reporting on all of the latest updates from VR videogames, HMDs and more.
