Previously VRFocus reported on the new virtual reality (VR) title FIRMA launching its Steam Greenlight campaign. Now the title has been made available on Oculus VR Share. The title is compatible with the first and second iteration of the Oculus Rift (DK1,DK2) head-mounted display (HMD).
FIRMA is an arcade simulator title that allows players to take control of a TL-6 Transit Lander on the moon as well as Mars. Using this, players are able to race through chasms, under bridges and across hostile terrain in order to complete the missions. These objectives can involve recovering and delivering essential parts for downed space crafts as well as delivering supplies to scientific bases.
The developers Think Heavy LTD states on the site that a great deal of time and effort has been put into perfecting the handling and control of the vehicle. Players are able to use console controllers like the Xbox 360 and Xbox One control pad in order to pilot the craft. The use of a VR HMD allows players to get an unlimited field of vision as you can look up when trying to get out of a dig site or look underneath when making a particularly tricky delivery.
VRFocus will keep you updated on the progress of FIRMA.
