Epic Games are heavily invested in next week’s Game Developer’s Conference (GDC), San Francisco, beginning with their ‘State of Unreal’ talk which will take place on 4th March 2015, in addition to press meetings taking place throughout the conference. Further to this however, the company has now revealed a party open to all GDC attendees, featuring CCP Games’ virtual reality (VR) space combat simulator, EVE: Valkyrie, as the headline act.
EVE: Valkyrie has regularly been cited as the poster child for VR videogames. A cockpit-based experience delivering high quality visuals and gameplay mechanics that will already be familiar to most. In May 2014, development team CCP Newcastle revealed that the development had switched from Unity to Unreal Engine 4, of which VRFocus stated that the improvements made by the jump were; “evident from the very start.”
The Epic Games GDC Party, dubbed ‘For the Love’, will take place on Wednesday, 4th March 2015, at The Grand, 520 4th Street, San Francisco. The party is open to all attendees of GDC and will feature hands-on gameplay sessions with both EVE: Valkyrie and the upcoming Unreal Tournament reboot.
