Last month VRFocus reported on the launch of a unique new virtual reality (VR) ‘dance party’ created by an indie developer. Simply named Convrge, the title’s first event allowed a handful of Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) owners to meet up within a vibrant environment. The seemingly successful experiment laid the foundations for future, more ambitious meet ups. The first of these ‘large scale’ events will be taking place tomorrow, 7th February 2015.
Starting at 17:00 EST and running through to around 23:00 the developers will be running a new dance party, held in the Darkwood Forest environment. The area includes a dance floor as well as a campfire for people to sit around and chat. As with the last event, players can choose from a number of floating heads to control, many of which are based on pop culture characters such as Batman, Super Mario and Pikachu. A short video of the environment in which the party takes place in can be seen below.
Convrge can be downloaded from its official website, with a version for standard monitors also available. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress, reporting back with any further updates on it.
