Back in November 2014 VRFocus reported on the launch of a Steam Greenlight campaign for a unique new virtual reality (VR) videogame named Valiant. Indie developer Offpeak Games hoped to raise enough positive votes to bring its multiplayer title to Valve’s digital PC store with full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). This week sees the developer pass that campaign after just under two months.
Valiant is a multiplayer horse combat title. Played from a first-person perspective players ride their horses into battle using lances, bows, swords and more to try and take down their opponent. Matches accommodate eight vs eight gameplay across large maps. The title is designed with VR in mind but will also be available on standard monitors. A demo version of the titled can currently be sampled over on the official Oculus VR Share Beta.
“This is a very exciting moment for us!” the developer noted. “We are extremely proud to be accepted through Steam’s Greenlight system and we are looking forward to adding features and polish to Valiant and providing an amazing experience.”
Currently there is no launch date attached to Valiant. VRFocus will continue to follow Valiant‘s progress, reporting back with any further updates as it heads towards release.
