Virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts will be familiar with the concept of community meet ups in which developers and fans gather to talk about the technology. For the past few years this has proven to be a great way to share work with the wider VR community. Tomorrow sees VR site Upload launch what looks to be one of the biggest VR-centric events yet. The outlet is holding a showcase in San Francisco, California, USA that will serve to kick off a tour of VR events that will from across the USA and over to Europe.
Taking place at the Metreon shopping centre, the Upload event will play host to over 60 VR exhibits from videogames to hardware. Tickets are available now from an EventBrite page that lists both VIP and general admission options. VIP tickets will allow for entrance at 17:00 PT where attendees can enjoy a range of panels that will include industry experts. These include representatives from the likes of Google Ventures, Samsung, Epic Games, Sixense, Dolby Labs, Leap Motion and plenty more.
General admission kicks off at 20:00, allowing just about anyone with a ticket to come and sample the latest that VR has to offer. A long list of sponsors are making the event possible including many from the previously-mentioned companies along with Razer, ImmersiON-VRelia and many more. Following on from the event Upload will then visit a further 11 cities throughout the USA and Europe, although specific locations and dates are yet to be announced.
VRFocus will continue to follow any and all VR-related events, reporting back with any further updates on them.
