Next month sees the first ever SouthWest VR Conference (SWVRC) take place in Bristol’s At-Bristol Science Centre, gathering the UK-based virtual reality (VR) community under one roof to talk about the latest advancements for the technology. Guests include Andy Serkis’ production studio, The Imaginarium, as well as Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) creator Oculus VR. Tickets are currently on sale for £120 GBP, however those thinking of attending might want to first try their luck with a new competition giving away some free tickets.
SWVRC has teamed up with TechSPARK, an online hub covering technology updates in western England. The two are offering three entrants the chance to win tickets for free. To enter fans need only visit SWVRC’s official website and sign up for the newsletter. The competition is open until 12pm on 2nd February 2015.
As for SWVRC itself, the show is set to take place on 24th February. Along with Oculus VR and The Imaginarium guests include Alchemy, Unity, nDreams, The Yogcast, GamesAid, Aardman and many more. VR videogames such as Radial-G, Pixel Rift and VR Karts will also be on display. A full day of events and talks is booked, looking at a wide array of uses of VR. VRFocus will continue to follow SWVRC closely, reporting back with any further updates on the show.
