Broken Windows Studios’ virtual reality (VR) horror videogame Grave unveiled new screenshots this week. The title puts players in a fight to survive monsters with a weakness to light. There are Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions currently in the works, but for now it is geared for a PC release. Grave is to be compatible with the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD), however there is no knowledge of whether the title will becoming to Sony’s VR HMD Project Morpheus.
Grave has two new screenshots, both taken from gameplay. The first screenshot gives people an up close look at the creatures that will pursue the player. When playing the videogame, users will be pursued by this type of creature during the night. It is the job of the player to use matches and other forms of light, like those shown in the screenshot, to keep the monsters at bay. Another screenshot shows a location. There is what appears to be old scaffolding as well as pylons which have fallen over.
The title is an open world surreal adventure featuring day and night cycles. During the day the player can look around and discover different locations as well as finding objects to produce light. When the videogame changes to darkness, it is time for the player to defend using any means of lighting the area. Also the title will change around the generated locations at night intended to make the player map out ways to new locations.
The videogame is due for release early this year, however it is unknown if console versions will release at the same time. VRFocus will keep you updated on the progress of Grave.
